Field Trips & Camps

There are two guiding principles for St. Paul’s field trips and camp experiences. The first is that these experiences enhance and extend learning beyond the classroom.  The second principle demands that these experiences engage the students in learning activities that support the importance of the arts to a St. Paul’s education.

At each grade level, students participate in field trips that are age appropriate and support a St. Paul’s education.  These trips include visiting Old Town San Diego, San Diego Mission,  Balboa Park museums, the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Old Globe, San Diego Symphony, Birch Aquarium,  Christian Youth Theater productions, choir field trips to perform at the Ronald MacDonald House and Wesley Palms retirement community.  Our fifth-grade students spend a night on the Star of India in the San Diego harbor.

In addition to these field trips, middle school students participate in three great camps.  In October, sixth-grade students spend five days at Palomar Christian Conference CenterSeventh-grade students spend time on Catalina Island at CIMI studying marine biology and ecology. In the Spring, eighth graders spend five days exploring the wonders of Yosemite National Park.
