St. Paul’s Is a Grace Place

Sharing Jesus Christ, witnessing Christ in our community, and helping students and families understand the powerful message of God’s grace, is the mission of St. Paul’s.  Communicating that message of grace not only changes people, but it also makes our community, our Christian school, a different place. The message of God’s grace is a message of undeserved love and forgiveness and that message motivates, permeates, and influences all that happens on this campus!

Our Staff

St. Paul’s Lutheran School witnesses Jesus Christ to students and families in a learning community that strives for academic excellence, prepares students for success in future educational, community, and life experiences and commits to the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child.

History of Lutheran Schools

Lutheran churches have established schools in our country since 1640. Today, more than 2,300 early childhood centers and preschools are operated by congregations and Christian day schools within the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod.  More than 129,000 children, ranging in age from infant/toddler to five years of age, are involved in these programs.  Additionally, our congregations operate 945 elementary schools which serve 107,000 students.

The NAEP report, often called the “Nation’s Report Card” ranked the Lutheran School system the #1 school system in the country! When compared to public schools, charter schools, and other large school systems, the system of Lutheran grade schools and high schools was ranked the best academic system. St. Paul’s Lutheran School is proud to be a part of the Lutheran education system.  Click here to see a copy of the report.

Academic Standards

St. Paul’s is in the process of transitioning from the California State Standards to the California Common Core Standards.   The academic rigor demanded by the Common Core Standards are a great fit for St. Paul’s and our academic expectations.  The Common Core Standards were developed by building on the best and highest state standards in existence in the U.S., examining the expectations of other high performing countries around the world, and careful study of the research and literature available on what students need to know and be able to do to be successful in college and careers. The standards are evidence-based, aligned with college and work expectations, include rigorous content and skills, and are informed by other top performing countries.  The full text of the Common Core Standards for California may be found at http://www.cde.ca.gov/re/cc/

Accreditation

St. Paul’s Lutheran School has been accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for the years 1996-2029.

This process was done for the purpose of validating the educational mission, program, goals, and objectives of our Christian school. The purpose of these educational agencies is to:
  • Foster excellence in elementary education.
  • Encourage school improvement through a process of continuous self-study and evaluation.
  • Assure a school and its public that the school has clearly defined and appropriate educational goals and objectives as established conditions under which their achievement can reasonably be expected, appears to be accomplishing them substantially, and can be expected to continue to do so.
St. Paul’s was accredited in 1996, 2003, 2009, 2016, and 2023. Each time, St. Paul’s received a six-year clear accreditation.
